This is my ex and I. He broke up with me the day after Valentine’s Day this year. We had been dating almost 4 and a half years. I was with him through his entire time in the Marine Corps. I went through 2 deployments, boot camp, SOI, etc etc… I gave him everything. He couldn’t handle my independence.

I was loyal and tried to help him through everything. Deployment, war, Iraq… it changes people. He hated me when he came home; he kept telling himself that I had cheated on him or something… when I didn’t. Never did. There are just some things that you can’t control, I guess. Now he’s stuck in a dead end life and I’m happy as a clam.

But I will never forget this kiss. One of the best of my life. This was right after he came home from our second 7-month deployment on the 22nd MEU.

10.7.05 forever. I don’t miss you… only what we used to have and who you used to be.
